==Altium Tutorial== We will use the design and implementation of the Carrier boards for tutorial. There are two stages of implementations. The first is the schematic level, where we deal with symbols. The second is the physical board level, where we try to layout and rout our components taking into account their physical sizes and wire trace limitations. We first start at the schematic level. We create parts (we actually also specify the physical aspects of the parts here) whenever needed and create a board project using those parts: * Create a COM Express Module Altium component and all other parts * Create a carrier Board Altium Project. After double-checking all the connections (compile the project by right-clicking on the project name, compile), we can go to the physical board level to: * layout and rout the components on the board * If needed: panelize boards/projects to have multiple copies in one PCB. This is usually good for needing a lot of small but identical boards. * If needed: combine boards/projects to one PCB ($50 extra), which actually saves money if combining more than 2 boards together. * create board manufacturing files to be sent to Advanced Circuits.
