Dear Laurent Itti,
I'm a PhD candidate of Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Now I'm working on a program of object recognition for industrial robot. I want to compare the recognition perfermance with and without saliency-based visual attention. Especially to make sure visual attention method can optimize for speed or not.  I'll be appreciative of giving me access to download the code.
My email is: wanglin_05@163.com. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes!

Hello,
I'm Francesco Ferro and I work in robotics field in Barcelona.
I'm interested in attention based vision systems and have read some of your papers. I think that you've made a great work and I'd like to try it making some tests and experiments on my own. I'd be glad, if you could give me access to the code.
Thanks in advance

Dear Dr. Itti,

my name is Kelly and I am a  Phd candidate in the Beijing Institute of Technology, China. My main research is content-based video retrieval. I am very interested about your visual attention theory. I would like to do some experiments with your source code and try to make some extentions in video retrieval.

Thank you.

Best regards

Hi,

I'm Rob Reilink, I'm currently doing my masters thesis project at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In this project, I'm designing and building the vision processing for a humanoid head. This head will have a 4DOF neck and 2 2DOF cameras, and will eventually be used to go on the passive dynamic walking humanoid that is developed at our university, the successor of Dribbel http://eprints.eemcs.utwente.nl/9771/01/105CE2007_Mikroniek_Dribbel.pdf

For the control of the head-eye movements in a human-like way I would very much like to assess the suitability of your visual attention algorithms.

My email adress is rreilink@hotmail.com

Kind regards,

Hey,
I am Anush Moorthy, a grad student at UT Austin.
I am trying to understand where the human fixates when shown a video sequence and how the motion affects fixations...

Hello Laurent,

I am a robotic hobbyist planning on studying mechanical engineering in a graduate program.

I am interested in using your toolkit for the creation of a recursive mobile robot.

Thanks

Hello,

I'am very interested in the toolkit, as it seems indispensable for my research  (PhD). My project is concerned with creating a coarse model the processes (and their interactions) involved when an artist is sketching faces...(it might seem very ambitious), I used to be an artist. That is a few years that I have been looking at your research, I think that now I should be able to use some of it, in I hope an interesting manner.
The more formal stuff:
I am Patrick Tresset
PhD student at goldsmiths college, University of London.
Department of computing.

Hello,

I'm a phD candidate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in visual cognition and would like to familiarize myself with your code as I try to nail down some thesis ideas.  Broadly, I'm interested in gaze allocation in natural scenes for context-dependent tasks, and would like to use your tool to predict initial fixations based on saliency.

thanks!

Dear Laurent Itti,

I'm studying the effects of clutter on next gen aircraft thingy
pit displays. The methods used in this toolkit should add to our understanding of saliency in displays and maybe add to our understanding of clutter. Therefore I'd like to gain access to the toolkit.

Kind regards,

Hi,

My name is Abir. I am doing a Master's at the University of Waterloo at the MultiCom Lab with En-hui Yang. For my thesis, I am implementing a visual attention based saliency detector for a H.264 video sequence.

I read two of your papers and tried to implement it on my own, but I need some leads on the color saliency and Gabor pyramids. Please share the C++ code for visual saliency.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Abir

Hello.
I'm a researcher in the Articial Vision Group, at the University of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain.
The research of our group is focused on the applications of biology inspired mechanisms of attention in active vision. So far, we have developed a bottom-up search system, which is largely based on your saliency model. Now, we are getting into the issue of top-down attention modulation mechanisms.
I am interested in your code for fast gist extraction, based on the same features as bottom-up saliency, describen in
http://ilab.usc.edu/siagian/Research/Gist/Gist.html,
to study how can gist information help object search.

Thank you so much.
Best regards,
