Hi Laurent, I've moved from USC to UBC, where I'm postdoc-ing with Kevin Murphy and am looking at statistical descriptions of video for compression and video retrieval. Your 2004 IEEE Transactions on Image processing paper has some nice results and we'd like to reproduce them (or at least experiment with some of the conditions). Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks, Jo-Anne jting@acm.org Department of Computer Science University of British Columbia 201-2366 Main Mall Vancouver, BC, Canada V6T 1Z4

Hi my name is Kenko Fujii, I am a PhD student at Imperial College London under the Computer Science department. I am interested in using your bottom up visual saliency model to conduct some experiments with eye tracking fixations. I would be grateful if you could grant me access to your code. my email address is: k.fujii09@imperial.ac.uk Thanks, Kenko

Hello! I am a graduate student. My current project is to implement the image resizing process, the algorithm of which is described in the paper "optimized scale and stretch for image resizing". As a starting step, a saliency map should be calculated together with a gradient map, with the help of these two, a significant map can be carried out, and then some following steps to get the image resized. Right now I am making my first steps in trying to generate the significant map and searching the web for examples of similar codes. Google led me to your webpage, and I hope you would allow me to take a look at your code. I am "an honest beginner" in this type of work and I would just use your code as an example of how this kinds of models can be implemented. Look forward to hearing from you, email: 05lkbwx@gmail.com WX

Hi, I am a student from xidian University of China, songjian, and I am currently working on a project on face recognition. I am especially interested in pandemonium-like computational models like Reisenhuber&Poggio's HMAX. I would much like to get hold of the actual source code of the implementation, wich I understand is available here. The main purporse for obtaining the code is to do some experiments on the model, and testing the performance of the model on face recognition. My email is songjiebang@163.com. Thanks for your time - I hope to hear from you !! songjian

(I put this in a new topic before...but I think it was supposed to be in here?) Hello, I would like to have access to the source code for your saliency map implementation in C++. I am a PhD student at indiana university's cognitive science program/computer science department and I work with developmental robotic models of infant learning, esp. word-referent learning in pre-verbal infants. I would like to have access to your saliency map source code so that I can use it to drive attention of my robot in experiments investigating the role attention plays in early embodied learning. Thank you, Richard Veale, Joint Ph.D Student CogSci/CompSci HRI Lab Indiana University TEL: 812.391.4804 EMAIL: riveale AT indiana DOT edu SITE: cs.indiana.edu/~riveale

Dear Prof. Itti. I'm a Ph.D student in Development of Elect. & Inform. Eng. of Kunsan National University at Source KOREA I'm working on image/video processing and computer vision relative to the HCI. I have a interesting the 3D image/video quality assessment based on Human Visual System. I hope to contribute my current working with your saliency area detection research for a image quality assessment that contruct modified Daly's algorithms (Visible Different Prediction, VDP, 1992). So, I want to try your source code to detect the salience region or points and hope to find the answer "Bottom-up system". Thanks for your attention!! sgcho@kunsan.ac.kr

Hello! My name is Yannis Kalantidis, and I am a Ph.D student in the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) working on Image analysis and retrieval. Here is a demo of our retrieval and localization system: http://viral.image.ntua.gr/ Since I am testing methods for feature selection, your saliency code could really help me experiment towards that direction. So, I would be glad if you would grand me access to the SVN with the source code. Thank you so much in advance! Yannis Kalantidis NTUA - IVA
